Peoria to Award $141,000 in Arts Grants

Money Split Among Three Categories; City Plans Aug. 4 Informational Meeting

PEORIA, Ariz. (July 14, 2010) -- The Peoria Arts Commission is offering three grants for nonprofit arts groups in the city.

The commission will award:

• $100,000 in General Operating Support Grants with individual awards of up to $50,000.

• $26,000 in Arts Program Grants for one-time programs, with individual awards of up to $2,500.

• $15,000 in Festival Grants for non-profit festivals and events in Peoria, with individual awards of up to $3,000.

Applicants must meet all the eligibility requirements and submit an application by Aug. 20. Applications must be typed, concise and complete. Grant recipients will be notified after Sept. 7.

City staff will offer a grant workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, in the Willow Room at Peoria’s Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St. Attendance is highly recommended.
